The Nissan Patrol has received an update, but it’s perhaps not what you might have been hoping for.
There’s still no smartphone mirroring, let alone the redesigned, more modern dashboard found in left-hand drive models.
Instead, the 2022 Patrol gets the new Nissan logos, a new fender vent design, and, in Ti form, a new grille… and that’s it.
Prices have increased by $1000 to $82,160 before on-road costs for the Ti and $95,115 before on-roads for the Ti-L.
Ti models are now distinguished from the Ti-L by a black grille, though Nissan has only supplied one image of the updated Patrol thus far and it’s the Ti-L that’s pictured.
Nissan doesn’t need to rock the boat all that much – 2021 was the Y62’s best year yet in terms of sales, with 3264 sold, and customers have faced waiting times.
Coincidentally, it was also the Patrol’s 70th anniversary last year.
The current Y62 generation arrived in 2014, with a major 2020 update bringing refreshed looks, more safety technology and revised suspension tuning.
For 2021, Nissan gave left-hand drive Patrol/Armada models a redesigned centre stack with a 12.3-inch tablet-style touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto. This dashboard has yet to be re-engineered for right-hand drive.

The 2022 Nissan Patrol uses a naturally-aspirated 5.6-litre V8 engine producing 298kW of power and 560Nm of torque, mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.
All Patrol models are four-wheel drive.

The 2022 Nissan Patrol measures 5175mm long and 1995mm wide, with a 3075mm wheelbase. The Ti is 1940mm tall while the Ti-L is 1955mm tall.
Its maximum braked towing capacity is 3500kg while unbraked towing capacity is 750kg, with a maximum towball download of 350kg.
Ground clearance is 273mm, while its departure angle is 26.3 degrees and its approach angle is 34.4 degrees in the Ti and 28.0 degrees in the Ti-L.
The 2022 Nissan Patrol is covered by a five-year, unlimited-kilometre warranty.
Nissan offers a capped-price servicing program, with services for the Patrol required every six months or 10,000km.
The first five services are capped at $393, $502, $483, $791 and $425.
